Itinerary

Departure and Arrival at Marangu Gate

Early morning after your breakfast you depart from your hotel in Moshi for a scenic drive to the Marangu Gate (approximately 1 hour) with your professional guide(s) who will assist you throughout the hike. Upon arrival, complete the necessary formalities with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities.

Hiking Through the Rainforest

Begin your trek on a well-maintained trail that ascends through the lush rainforest zone. Take in the towering tropical trees, ferns, and colorful wildflowers lining the trail. Along the way, look out for playful blue monkeys swinging through the canopy and listen to the melodic songs of native birds.

Reach Mandara Hut

After about 3-4 hours of hiking, arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700 meters above sea level). Enjoy a well-deserved rest and a light picnic lunch, surrounded by stunning views of the forested hillsides. Take a short walk to nearby Maundi Crater, a scenic spot offering breathtaking views of Kenya’s Amboseli plains on a clear day.

Descent and Return
