Itinerary


Arrival Day – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Later, you will meet your professional mountain guide for a detailed pre-climb briefing and equipment check. Any missing gear can be rented locally to ensure you are fully prepared for your Mount Meru expedition. Overnight at hotel in Arusha/Moshi.

 

Day 1: Arusha/Moshi – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut

Hiking Time: 5–7 hours

After breakfast, transfer to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Following registration with TANAPA and final packing preparations, the trek begins. The first day resembles a walking safari. Wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope, and occasionally elephants may be seen along the trail. 

 

Due to wildlife presence, an armed ranger accompanies all trekking groups. The route follows Ngarenanyuki River and passes a scenic waterfall before reaching Miriakamba Hut (2,500m). Dinner and overnight at the hut.
 

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut

Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

Today’s ascent follows a steep ridge with expanding views of Meru Crater and the Ash Cone. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut (3,570m), there is an optional acclimatization hike to Little Mount Meru (3,820m). Early dinner and rest in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.
 

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak (4,566m) – Miriakamba Hut

Hiking Time: 10–12 hours

Wake-up at 00:30 for tea and light snacks before beginning the summit ascent.
The route passes Rhino Point (3,800m) and Cobra Point (4,350m) before reaching Socialist Peak (4,566m) at sunrise. From the narrow crater ridge, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Meru Ash Cone below. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Saddle Hut for a short rest before continuing to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.
 

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Return to Arusha/Moshi

Hiking Time: 2–3 hours

After breakfast, descend through forest and open grassland to Momella Gate. Wildlife sightings are common during the descent. Transfer back to your hotel for rest and recovery. Overnight in Arusha/Moshi.
 

Day 5: Arusha/Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast and safari briefing, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Located beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is known for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and diverse birdlife including flamingos. Afternoon game drive. Overnight in Karatu.
 

Day 6: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Serengeti National Park. Arrive in the central Seronera region for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Serengeti is renowned for its vast plains, predator populations, and seasonal Great Migration. Overnight in Serengeti (lodge or tented camp).
 

Day 7: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Full-day game drives in Serengeti with flexible morning and afternoon safari sessions. Depending on the season, your guide will position you for optimal wildlife viewing. Expect lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra. Overnight in Serengeti.
 

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

Morning departure to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site supports one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and black rhinos. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Overnight in Karatu.
 

Day 9: Tarangire National Park – Return to Arusha/Moshi

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal wildlife concentrations along the Tarangire River. Afternoon game drive before returning to Arusha/Moshi in the late afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Arusha/Moshi.
 

Departure Day

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
 

Optional extensions such as a Mount Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar beach holiday can be arranged upon request.
